currently use technology as leveraging to improve its business process. UPS developed a tracking system DIAD (Delivery Information Acquisition Device) which contains
detailed information about the sender, the destination, and when the package should arrive, then raw data is send to UPS’s computers systems for storage and processing.
•Logistics: DIAD strongly improve UPS’s logistic because employees are able to design a most efficiency routes for drivers, taking into consideration facts such as traffic, weather conditions and locations where drivers have to delivery packages, all this help drivers to be faster and save money spend on gas.
• Customer service: UPS spend more than $1 billion each year in order to improve its customer service whereas DIAD was included inside the investment made by the company, DIAD provide excellent customer service make it one of UPS’s competences, DIAD allows customer to download labels through UPS web site, which can be access by anyone worldwide to know how its package delivery is doing, including calculation of shipping time and rates, provides proof of delivery making UPS a better company locally and globally. do you understand? what can you recommend me to improve it? thank you
